Chinasoft International Ltd. AE (Audit Execution System) 3.5 is a computer auditing software system for internal auditors. The system is based on the internal audit operation standards criteria. Moreover, the AE brings into effect auditing operational criteria and enterprise flow design. The system is capable of making significant improvement in efficiency, improvement of audit quality, and reduction of audit risk.
The AE software system has vast user capabilities for enterprise units, internal audit departments, and internal auditors. The software from the internal audits point of view tries to bring forward enterprise unit internal health control, improved business management level, safeguard capital integrity, and guarantee information truthfulness. AE 3.5 Summary
AE 3.5 based on component development is divided into business product component and AE platform. The design of business component is based on the accumulation of the knowledge system and planned mainly for audit projects. It has various functions for audit businesses.
Support component provides various types of technical platform support for business component.
Business Component
1) Collection and Conversion
- Be able to collect basic financial data of the audited unit and recalculate accounts and statements required for the generation of finance, and also support direct input of finance and businesses generated by other software. Implement audit data collection at three levels of statements, accounts and common two-dimensional statements.
- Be able to support different collection modes such as backup data collection and remote data collection to meet the requirements of different collection environments.
- There are more than 200 kinds of collection templates of domestic financial software (such as UFIDA, Kindee and Inspur), which can be reusable and implement convenient and rapid data collection. They also can collect complicated ERP system data such as SAP and Oracle and provide collection template extension setup for users to self-define collection templates so as to satisfy the requirements of data collection of various financial and business software.
2) Audit Computing
Audit computing component can provide a series of convenient and rapid computing tools to assist auditors in computing, verification and checking during the audit process, such as computing of loss of bad accounts, and depreciation of fixed assets, interests of bank loans and taxes (computing of individual income tax, operating tax and enterprise income tax)
- Various parameters and computing formula required in the computing process can be self-defined by auditors, which extend the scope of usability of the software.
- Problem data found through audit computing can be used directly as audit evidence to be entered into the pool of audit doubtful points or to be edited as audit manuscript.
3) Audit Analysis
Audit analysis can provide index calculation, statement analysis, account analysis and data analysis. The scope of data analysis will become wider and more detailed as the depth of analysis increases. It also can provide computing tools, account browsing tools, query analysis tools, ASL tools, and OLAP presentation tools. The angle of analysis becomes wider and more complicated. It can meet the requirements of audit analysis of users at different levels and from different angles.
Statement Analysis
The system provide statement preview and a series of statement analysis functions such as structure analysis of asset liability, analysis of cancel and check relations between statements, analysis of statement trend comparison, analysis of statement financial indicators, and analysis of statement item change.
- The system can re-generate financial statements for analysis based on the statements collected from the outside (such as statements generated with other software or statements edited in Excel) or according to the original data, and make analysis of various financial and business index and verify the cancel and check relations among various statements。
The complete and comprehensive statement analysis can provide effective evaluation of past and current operating achievements, development trends and operation situation of the audited unit so as to define the key areas for auditing, and also provide a forecast on future development situation of the audited unit, providing the leadership with timely, scientific and theoretical support and data guarantee for decision-making.
Account Analysis
Account analysis component provides account recreation based on basic financial data which can be previewed. Based on account data, account analysis component provides a series of single-account analysis tools and multi-account analysis tools as well as SQL query to meet other audit requirements. Since financial accounts can present specific situation of various businesses of the audited unit, compared with statement analysis, account analysis is more detailed and more deeper and can find out more specific problems.
- After collecting basic financial data, the system recalculates and generates general ledger, itemized account, journal and assistant account, so as to compare with the accounts generated by the original financial system and make various audit analysis based on this.
- Account analysis component provides the query for various accounts and basic financial data and implements penetrating query according to the financial accounting principle such as sequential query from general ledger to itemized account and then to voucher, and the reverse query from voucher to itemized account and then to general ledger.
- Account analysis component provides a set of single-account query tools to implement the analysis of an account from different angles, mainly including item graphical analysis, counterpart item analysis, accounting balance analysis, negative value analysis, summary and abstraction analysis, etc.
- Account analysis component provides a set of multi-account analysis tools to implement horizontal analysis of the financial data of the audited unit and vertical analysis of the financial data of the same unit in several years, mainly including item change check analysis, item chart comparison analysis item balance comparison analysis, revenue and expenditure analysis, etc.
- Besides account-based analysis tools, the component also provides SQL query tools to meet the requirements of auditors for more flexible and more complicated audit analysis of various accounts and satisfy the working requirements of auditors at different technical levels.
Data Analysis
This component provides datasheet view, BENFOND value analysis, graphical SQL and statistics analysis such as number interruption analysis, number repetition analysis, data hierarchical analysis and time sorting analysis.
- Data analysis can make direct analysis of any structured data without data restoration and use various data analysis tools to make statistics and analysis of values such as number interruption, number repetition and data hierarchical analysis so as to provide auditors with scientific audit basis.
- Value analysis can establish multi-dimension OLAP analysis, define correlation and measurement values between financial datasheet and business datasheet, make analysis from multiple dimensions such as month, accounting item, personnel and department, and generate various result sheets. Analysis results can be presented in curve chart, cylinder chart and pie chart. In-depth analysis can be made in sequential table, grouping table and free-style table.
- Graphical SQL can implement visualized automatic edition of SQL statements, which is more convenient to operate and easier to understand. It also can make analysis of the correlation between business datasheet and financial datasheet.

4) ASL Automatic Pre-audit
- ASL automatic pre-audit component integrates a number of audit experiences and audit methods according to different industries. Auditors can, before carrying out audit, automatically or manually run audit methods to carry out data scan and automatic pre-audit to create audit doubtful points so as to narrow the scope of audit, define the key audit points and improve the audit efficiency.
- ASL automatic pre-audit component, based on intelligent audit rule engine and with ASL language as the carrier, provides audit method definition and edition tools. Users can, in the course of work, continuously enrich the audit method pool, and accumulate audit experiences. The content of the audit experience pool can be imported and exported for exchange and knowledge sharing between auditors.
- This component also provides pre-audit result management tools. Results of automatic pre-audit can directly prompt auditors and enter into the pool of doubtful points for auditors to deal with in depth.
5) On-site Project Management
- On-site project management component provides on-site auditors with audit material management, covering various audit documents and related materials generated in audit preparation phase, implementation phase and completion phase. It provides the management of project information, analysis results, audit evidences, audit manuscript and audit report to standardize audit operation and improve the audit quality.
- Interaction can be implemented between on-site project management and the OA system. Auditors can download from on-site project management basic project materials from the OA system. After the completion of specific audit work, documents such as audit manuscripts and audit logs can be uploaded into the OA system for centralized management.
- Scientific and personalized audit result management provides automatic manuscript data extraction to automatically generate work manuscript, manuscript inclosure, audit report and audit account, and also provides intelligent management.
Basic Project Information Management
- The creation of basic project information is the basis for project creation. Basic project materials can be entered directly by the user, copied from existing projects, or downloaded from the OA system. After the completion of the current project, the materials also can be uploaded into the OA system for filing.
- Project data can be organized according to the project implementation process and audit material type convenient for reference to by auditors.
Doubtful Point Management
- The pool of audit doubtful points provides centralized management and storage of audit doubtful points discovered by auditors using audit analysis component.
- Auditors can directly apply analysis functions to clarify audit doubtful points one by one, and in the meantime, can enter discovered problems as audit items into the manuscript directly.
Audit Document Management
- Audit document management component provides comprehensive management of audit documents created in various phases of the audit project, such as audit manuscript, audit log and audit report, and also stores documents according to different organization modes such as audit phase and document type.
- The system provides more than 400 sets of document templates that can be directly applied to generate various audit documents, such as audit notification, audit scheme, and accounting item evaluation sheet. The Excel template also can extract data directly from the audit database for calculation, significantly simplifying the daily work of auditors.
- Any audit problem discovered whenever auditors use audit analysis component to conduct audit can generate audit manuscript at any time and can be stored as audit evidence. The system also can flexibly create correlation among manuscript, evidence, log and material incloure, and automatically generate the first draft of audit report according to audit manuscript.
