Chengde Toudaogou Tunnel: Jihong, China's First Fully OpenHarmony-Enabled Tunnel

Project Background

Hebei Expressway Group, together with Kaihong and Huawei, deployed the Jihong Smart Tunnel solution at the Chengde Toudaogou Tunnel. Through deep integration of "three hardware (Jihong controller, adapter and all-in-one machine) + three software (Jihong OS components, edge applications and cloud applications)", 24 categories of electromechanical equipment were fully upgraded to OpenHarmony.

Solution

Deep integration of three hardware and three software: Hebei Expressway Group, together with Kaihong and Huawei, deployed the Jihong Smart Tunnel solution at the Chengde Toudaogou Tunnel. Through deep integration of "three hardware (Jihong controller, adapter and all-in-one machine) + three software (Jihong OS components, edge applications and cloud applications)", 24 categories of electromechanical equipment were fully upgraded to OpenHarmony.
Hardware reuse, software renewal: reusing existing transmission channels, compatible with original wiring terminals, and using the Jihong adapter to complete non-IP device protocol conversion, enabling legacy devices to quickly join the intelligent system.
Emergency super device and automatic inspection linkage: building "emergency super device" and "smart lighting super device" based on the distributed soft bus, achieving millisecond-level communication and seamless collaboration; automatic inspection can detect internal faults that manual inspection cannot find.

Implementation Results

The device online rate in the tunnel increased from 56% before the transformation to 95%; emergency response was shortened from the ten-minute level to the second level.
The integrated design of the Jihong controller reduces equipment replacement time by 90%, and automatic inspection replaces 80% of manual inspection; the construction cost of smart lighting scenarios such as "lights on when vehicles approach" is more than 90% lower than traditional solutions.
Hebei Expressway Group, Kaihong and Huawei jointly established the "Jihong" Joint Innovation Laboratory to formulate and promote OpenHarmony-related technical standards and specifications for the highway industry.
