Xi'an Smart Transportation "OpenHarmony + NearLink + AI" Project

A national pioneer in smart transportation, with pilot deployments at 14 intersections

Project Background

Chinasoft International was selected as the lead unit for Xi'an's smart transportation OpenHarmony innovation application and ecosystem construction city partner initiative, joining forces with Jide Technology, Huawei, Shenzhen Kaihong, and four other companies to form an innovation consortium. The project uses the OpenHarmony operating system as its technical foundation, focusing on data management, platform integration, and system/device transformation to overcome the integration challenges between OpenHarmony and existing transportation systems.

Solution

  • Pilot intersections saw a 20%–25% improvement in traffic efficiency, with district-wide efficiency up 25%.
  • Pilot deployments have been completed at 14 intersections, including the Wenhui Road and Fengcheng 5th Road junction in Xi'an.
  • 32 key devices have completed HarmonyOS adaptation, and 16 have passed XTS professional certification.
  • The project has connected with more than 20 upstream and downstream industry vendors, promoted local production of core hardware in Xi'an, and initially formed an industrial closed loop of "hardware + software + scenarios".
  • According to the plan, within 2–3 years, the city will complete HarmonyOS transformation of more than 3,600 road intersections and over 400 highway nodes, covering 23 management scenarios.
