Hongyun Virtual Machine

Independently developed based on OpenHarmony, enabling second-level switching between HarmonyOS and Windows

Functional Overview

Hongyun Virtual Machine is a HarmonyOS-based virtual machine software independently developed from the OpenHarmony source code. By deeply integrating distributed technology and virtualization technology, it builds a secure and efficient Windows runtime environment, enabling second-level switching between HarmonyOS and Windows, data interoperability, and intelligent peripheral scheduling.

Customer Pain Points

  • Insufficient HarmonyOS PC application ecosystem: In the early stage of HarmonyOS PCs, the ecosystem for professional software and industry long-tail applications is still incomplete. Users face the dilemma of wanting apps that are not available and finding available apps unfamiliar, affecting large-scale adoption of HarmonyOS PCs.
  • Difficulties in government/enterprise IT innovation migration: Government, finance, energy, and other industries have large numbers of core business systems deeply dependent on the Windows ecosystem. Switching from Windows to HarmonyOS faces huge application migration costs and business continuity risks.
  • Low cross-platform multi-terminal collaboration efficiency: In multi-system, multi-device environments, data cannot be shared and peripherals (e.g., printers) are hard to call across systems, affecting office efficiency and user experience.
  • Industry-specific software is hard to replace: Industry-specific software such as water conservancy/hydrology tools, financial audit software, and design/simulation software cannot be natively developed for HarmonyOS in the short term, becoming a key bottleneck in IT innovation substitution.

Solution Advantages

  • Second-level dual-system switching and deep collaboration: Through deep integration of distributed technology and virtualization technology, achieve seamless switching between HarmonyOS and Windows, support second-level system switching and data interoperability, and intelligent peripheral scheduling (e.g., cross-system printer calls).
  • Built-in Hongyun App Store and security protection: The built-in app store provides over 500 Windows long-tail applications and industry-specific software resources, with strict security review mechanisms to ensure application quality, user privacy, and runtime stability. Multiple security defense lines are established; system snapshot protection enables second-level rebuild and recovery when the VM is abnormal, and professional data extraction mechanisms can maximize the security of user data assets when the VM unexpectedly shuts down or files are damaged.
  • Authoritative certifications and deep ecosystem binding: Hongyun Virtual Machine won the Pioneer Award for outstanding experience at the HarmonyOS Office Industry Summit, and Chinasoft International also won the Lighthouse Award for industry co-creation. The company was selected as one of Huawei's top ten HarmonyOS PC lab partners, with all 132 POC verifications passed. In the future, it will deepen cooperation with Huawei in three directions: intelligent developer scenarios, multi-terminal collaborative development, and deepening software ecosystem HarmonyOS-ization.
  • Serving 400+ enterprises, empowering large-scale IT innovation substitution: Hongyun Virtual Machine has served over a thousand enterprises, covering smart water conservancy, finance, education, and other industries, supporting cross-system collaborative operations, and continuously driving the localization process.
